Sizzling Fillo @ Lidcome

Filipinos love good food and karaoke so it's no surprise you'll find both at Sizzling Fillo.

The decor of the place is a bit odd with it's chandeliers, giant vases, a stage, ceiling drapes and an out of place distressed brick wall on one side of the room. Service is OK but nothing spectacular. So I wouldn't really recommend this place for the ambience or service.

That said, I would definitely recommend this place for those who want to try delicious authentic Filipino food.
Karaoke stage for those brave enough to sing in front of the crowd
C ordered sago at gulaman (sago and jelly) which is a popular Filo drink.  It's quite a sweet drink so it might not be to everyone's taste.
We ordered ukoy which is one of my favourite Filo dishes. I was so happy to see it on the menu. In the Philippines, these fritters are usually made with small prawns but this one was made with whiting and pumpkin which worked as well. It was delicious with a bit of vinegar. I also loved the garlic fried rice...I had the leftover fried rice for breakfast the next day :)
We also had crispy pata which is pork hock that's been pre-boiled in spices and then either fried or baked till very crispy. Not a healthy dish but it's definitely delish and worth the calories! It's always served with a soy-vinegar sauce.
Our last dish was sizzling beef tapa which is beef strips marinated in a soy based marinade. The beef was tender but it was slightly on the salty side. But it's perfect with fried rice.
